1. We encourage you to not let your children run up and down the rows where they might get too close to other pickers. Please keep an eye on your children when in the parking lot as other drivers might not be mindful of children. If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
2. We do our best to space out the pickers so that you have space. We ask you to pick the row that you are assigned to.
3. Please be sure to keep track of your personal property and trash. Do not leave trash in the fields.
4. We can not allow any pets in or near the fields; so please leave your pets at home or keep them in your well ventilated car.
Up to the minute changes/announcements will be done on Facebook.
Once we open for the day we are not able to check voice messages. So if you leave a message please understand that we might be able to get back to you until the end of the day.
When you come onto our farm it is with the understanding that there are inherent risks from weather, uneven ground, insects, wildlife, and allergens that we can not prevent you from encountering.
1. Strawberries are priced by the pound for you pick berries.
2. We have containers for you to pick in and transfer to in order to take them home but you are welcome to bring your own container. We ask that you have your container weighed before you enter the fields.
3. Look for the red berries. Pick by pinching the stem of the berry between your fingers to break it from the plant. Leave the green caps on the strawberries until you are ready to use them.
4. Carefully place the berries in a shallow container to reduce bruising from piling them too high.
1. Do not wash your berries until you are ready to use them. Keeping them dry and cool in your refrigerator will prolong their life. Try to consume them within a few days of picking them as their flavor and texture will begin deteriorate. When you are ready to eat them just rinse them.
2. FREEZING STRAWBERRIES
Place a layer of rinsed, dried and capped berries on a cookie sheet and freeze until firm. Remove berries from cookie sheet and package in freezer bags. Date the package and place in freezer. Frozen berries will be good for 10 to 12 months in the freezer.
Berries may also be sliced and frozen in freezer bags for later use. Berries can be packaged with or without sugar. For sugared berries, mix sugar with berries using 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar to each quart of berries. Allow the mixture to stand until the sugar dissolves (about 15 minutes). Pack the fruit and juice into freezer bags or containers. Leave 1/4 inch headspace for containers. Date the package and place in the freezer.
